Starting May 1, 2025, British Airways will begin a partnership with the renowned British tea brand, Birchall. Annually, the airline provides approximately 40 million cups of tea, indicating the importance of their choice in tea providers.

Birchall was selected following a series of blind taste tests. The decision was also influenced by the company’s British heritage and its commitment to sustainability. This family-owned business will offer a variety of premium tea selections both in the air and on the ground.

The introduction of this new tea is a significant move for British Airways. Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, commented on the decision, noting the importance of the tea experience onboard: “Last year, we served over 37 million cups of tea on our flights and more than two million in our lounges worldwide. It was crucial that our new tea partner matched our high standards of British excellence and authenticity.”

Daniel Graham, Managing Director at Birchall Tea, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “Supplying tea to British Airways, a symbol of British quality and service, aligns perfectly with our values. We are thrilled to enhance the tea experience for British Airways’ customers both in the air and on the ground for many years to come.”

In addition to the new tea offering, British Airways is also expanding its global network. This week, the airline resumed flights to Kuala Lumpur and reintroduced services to Tbilisi, reconnecting the UK with these important regions. The Kuala Lumpur route, which has not been serviced for the past five years, and the Tbilisi route, not flown since 2013, are now part of the daily service operated by British Airways’ Boeing 787-900, featuring four cabin classes.
