Venice Venice Hotel: A Fusion of Art, Design, and Wellness Overlooking the Grand Canal

Discover a unique gem in Venice, a place where art and design converge with an unexpected twist at the Venice Venice Hotel. This historic palace, nestled in the heart of the Serene Republic, has been reborn with a concept that prioritizes a standout experience. Let’s delve into the details. The journey began with an ambitious challenge: reviving the grand spaces of Ca’ da Mosto on the Grand Canal, situated between the Rialto Bridge and the Old Market area.

Experiential Luxury

In this paradise, the space is defined by the warp and weft of Fiber Art, which stretches from floor to ceiling, evoking the roots of a magnificent tree of life. But there’s more: the fabrics used by Zidaru are infused with a unique blend of essences that release the fragrance of hundreds of medicinal herbs. The same fabrics are embroidered with maxims and phrases inspired by the herbal treatise Ordo Virtutum by Saint Hildegard of Bingen. Victoria’s work, combined with her deep sensitivity and unique way of being and living, deeply moved the founders of the Venice Venice Hotel, who developed a deep connection with her, asking her to embrace their vision and create Felix Anima. “I want to convey a positive message, in an attempt to help people overcome their problems. That’s why I prefer shapes that are broad, generous, simple, expressive, and full of text. Texts that are not so much religious, but rather spiritual, imbued with a certain essence and knowledge,” explains the artist.

Felix Anima Spa is not just a “simple” environmental installation. It is, in fact, a site-specific work that Romanian artist Victoria Zidaru conceived for the opening of this evocative wellness temple.

The restaurant at Venice Venice Hotel stands out as well, where culinary art meets the elegance of design, reflecting the hotel’s overarching theme of blending luxury with artistic expression.

Art, Automotive, and Signature Wines

If the artworks—created by various contemporary artists—adorn and animate the rooms and common spaces available to guests (somewhat like being in a “living museum”), there is also a nod to automotive design. This is seen in the project created by Gallo with Andrea Zagato to honor the shared passion for vintage Porsche Carrera 356 B 1600 GTL models. From this collaboration also arose a suite celebrating the automotive brand. The mural in its honor, created with the collaboration of designer Norihiko Harada, illustrates and interprets the mood board that led to the creation of the iconic four-wheeler. Indeed, a “Felix” location – from the Latin, fortunate and happy – in one of the most beloved art cities on the Peninsula.

Furthermore, a new type of alchemy is fermenting in the sun-kissed Venetian hills and along the sparkling Grand Canal hosting this hotel in Venice: Katkoot, the avant-garde wine label founded by the Bassan brothers, launches an extraordinary partnership with the Venice Venice Hotel, merging fine wine, artistic craftsmanship, and radical hospitality in a collaboration that redefines the meaning of drinking and “feeling” wine.
