Chinese car brands set for UK launch with new electric vehicles coming soon - 'Exciting'

Upcoming Car Launches by Chery, GAC, and GWM

In the next few months, Chery, GAC, and GWM are expected to reveal more details about their upcoming launches.

A slew of new Chinese car brands are gearing up for their UK debut in the upcoming months as they aim to broaden their international reach.

Jameel Motors is collaborating with renowned Chinese brand GAC to introduce a new lineup of electric vehicles throughout the UK in the forthcoming years.

This partnership, hailed as “innovative,” marks one of the first such collaborations with a Chinese manufacturer in the UK market.

Two new electric vehicles will be available from GAC through Jameel Motors, including the AION V SUV in the C-segment and the AION UT hatchback in the B-segment.

AION, a subsidiary of GAC, will start selling its vehicles through selected retail partners across the UK, with the first customer deliveries expected in the early months of 2026.

Additional models are slated to join the AION lineup, with more details on pricing to be announced later.

Jameel Motors already markets electric vehicles in the UK under its Farizon Auto brand, including the SV electric van, priced at £45,000.

The SV boasts an impressive all-electric range of up to 342 miles, can be charged in just 36 minutes, and has a maximum gross payload of 1,350kg.

Jasmmine Wong, CEO of Jameel Motors, stated: “The joint venture with GAC represents a shared vision and an exciting opportunity to cater to the UK’s increasing demand for smarter, cleaner passenger vehicles.”

“Guided by customer preferences and backed by our expertise, we are committed to staying at the forefront of trends and delivering top-notch, innovative, and sustainable solutions.”

Chery UK also confirmed the launch of the Tiggo 7, priced at £24,995 for the 1.6-litre TDGI engine model and £29,995 for the Super Hybrid.

The Wuhu-based manufacturer is advancing with its popular Tiggo 7 model, which has been a success in China and globally for many years.

The Super Hybrid variant features an impressive range of 745 miles, including 56 miles on electric power alone, which can fast charge from 30 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

Chery UK, already active in the UK through its sister brands Omoda and Jaecoo, has captured an impressive two percent of the market share, despite having launched just nine months ago.

Farrell Hsu, Deputy Country Director of Chery UK, said: “Chery International has proudly developed, manufactured, and exported the Chery Tiggo lineup for over 20 years, with millions of drivers worldwide opting for our SUVs due to their blend of style, technology, and practicality.”

“Now, with the Chery Tiggo 7, we believe the time is right to introduce this versatile compact crossover SUV to UK buyers.”

GWM UK

Another Chinese brand, GWM, is set to accelerate its UK expansion with the introduction of a new “rugged, robust, and adventure-ready contender” soon.

The new model is scheduled for launch in September this year, with more details, pricing, and specifications to be announced next month.

GWM, which stands for Great Wall Motor, currently markets five model lines, with ORA being the only line planned for sale in the UK.

Earlier this year, GWM UK transitioned to the “One GWM” platform, which is already operational globally. The Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid SUV is now available for sale in the UK.
