He suggests the large center diamond is complemented by two oval side stones, each about one carat, set in platinum, estimating the total carat weight at around 37 carats.
Kormind compares the opulence of the ring to the famous Taylor-Burton Diamond—a 69.42-carat pear-shaped stone once owned by Elizabeth Taylor. He places the value of Rodriguez’s ring at a whopping $5 million.
Laura Taylor, a specialist in engagement rings at Lorel Diamonds, describes the ring as “extraordinary,” estimating the center diamond to weigh between 15 to 20 carats. She praises the oval cut for its brilliant faceting, which enhances the diamond’s sparkle and gives it a vibrant, lively look from every angle.
She also notes that the sizable side stones alongside the main diamond make it appear even larger, with everything set in platinum to ensure the setting’s security and to enhance the stone’s color.
Laura Taylor speculates that if the diamond is a natural, high-quality stone in the D-F color range with flawless or near-flawless clarity, its value could easily surpass $2 million.
