Maison Cartier and Kensington Hotel: A Winning Combination
The world of international glamour and culture collide in the V&A Experience package offered by the Kensington Hotel in London. Starting from April 12, the V&A South Kensington will host Maison Cartier’s first major exhibition in the United Kingdom in nearly three decades. This exclusive exhibition will take visitors on a journey through the illustrious history of the renowned French brand, featuring jewelry worn by Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Grace of Monaco, as well as breathtaking pieces worn by modern icons like Rihanna.
The exhibition will showcase the evolution of the brand’s artistic, design, and craftsmanship heritage from the early 20th century to the present, with over 350 items including watches and unique creations. For this occasion, Kensington Hotel will offer guests two tickets to the exhibition, paired with a luxurious overnight stay in one of the hotel’s elegant rooms or suites.
Exquisite Elixirs
Inspired by the upcoming exhibition, the limited edition cocktail menu Hidden Gems at Kensington Hotel’s K Bar transforms it into a treasure trove of flavors and sophistication. Nestled in the heart of Kensington, the K Bar itself is a hidden gem, providing a refined atmosphere reminiscent of a classic British club. From the Hidden Gems menu, guests can enjoy drinks like the Diamant, featuring Beluga Gold Line vodka and Champagne cordial served over a stunning diamond-shaped ice cube, and the Rubis, a mix of La Hechicera rum, Campari, Mancino Rosso, and mango, evoking the protective power of ruby amulets once worn by magicians to ward off evil spirits.
Artful Afternoon Tea
To fully immerse in the Kensington experience, guests are invited to the elegant Drawing Room, where tea preparation is elevated to an art form, inspired by world-renowned chefs. The creative team at Kensington has crafted a gallery of exquisite jams atop traditional silver three-tier stands, paying homage to artists like Jackson Pollock, Yayoi Kusama, and Alicja Kwade.
Guests can marvel at Pollock’s famous painting technique adorned on a tart of dark chocolate mousse with passion fruit parfait, or taste a delicious replica of Kwade’s natural spheres, made with white chocolate and vanilla mousse with a heart of pineapple compote. A selection of teas from the Rare Tea Company perfectly complements the experience.
The Kensington Hotel is situated at the heart of London’s artistic and cultural scene, housed within seven traditional Victorian townhouses. Owned and managed by The Doyle Collection, a luxury Irish hotel group, this sophisticated pet-friendly hotel features 116 rooms and 30 suites, each with a distinct character. The interiors, designed in collaboration with London-based design studio Timothy Mather, reflect traditional architecture while providing guests with a sense of the unexpected and exotic. The fireplaces, high ceilings, and elegant sitting rooms of Kensington Hotel echo those of a private Victorian residence.
At the core of The Doyle Collection’s interests is a focus on service, a concern that stems from the family-owned nature of the business. It’s what gives the hotels in the group the feel of a private home. Each of the eight hotels, landmark buildings in unparalleled urban locations, has its own distinct personality and blends into the neighborhood it resides in.
Continuous innovation and investment ensure a boutique, cosmopolitan yet local atmosphere. An informal luxury vision, timeless in style. The Kensington Hotel in London collaborates with GHA (Global Hotel Alliance) and the Green Collection, an initiative that includes 200 hotels, resorts, and residences managed by prestigious hospitality brands.
