The much-awaited culinary venture from the NFL celebrities, 1587 Prime, will open its doors on Wednesday, September 17, coinciding with Mahomes’ 30th birthday. This announcement was made via the steakhouse’s official Instagram.

The establishment will launch just two weeks after the onset of the NFL 2025-2026 season, with the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce and Mahomes’ team, playing against the Los Angeles Chargers the day after the season opener between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Instagram post teased potential patrons with the slogan, “Precision in every detail. Power in every bite.” It further announced that reservations for the opening night and future dates would be available from Wednesday, August 20, at noon CST, inviting fans to be among the first to experience the new Kansas City dining hotspot.

In a promotional video, Kelce, aged 35, and Mahomes are seen sampling menu items, with Mahomes stating, “We wanted to bring something special to Kansas City.” Kelce added, “What’s better than breaking bread with good food, good drinks, and a cool vibe?”

As they continued tasting, Mahomes remarked in a voiceover, “Kansas City loves its food. The city’s going to love this.” Both athletes shared their excitement on Instagram, with Kelce posting, “Let’s go KC!!! ” and Mahomes hinting at a celebration, “30th Birthday Party?!?! .”

Located in the Loews Kansas City Hotel, the restaurant will feature multi-sensory dining elements and subtle tributes to the athletes, including its name “1587,” a combination of their jersey numbers. The venue spans two floors and covers 10,000 square feet, boasting several private dining areas and an impressive display of meats.

Initial buzz about the restaurant began in March 2024, with plans originally set for an early 2025 opening. However, no official opening date was provided until now.

The following month, Kelce exclusively told PEOPLE that the venture was an “unbelievable opportunity,” targeting a grand opening in 2025. “It’s just another way to show our appreciation for Kansas City, recognizing their love for great food and football,” Kelce commented.

Mahomes added in a company release, “Having enjoyed Noble 33’s restaurants in other cities, Travis and I thought it only right to bring something special to our hometown of Kansas City.”

In July, the pair teased fans with an Instagram video of their menu tasting session. The tasting included various butters (like white truffle and bone marrow) and condiments such as truffle soy and chimichurri, showcasing dishes like wagyu beef, togarashi fried chicken, and a wagyu steak flight featuring different cuts of premium meat.
