M&S says it is the first national supermarket to stock asparagus grown entirely in Britain this season.
The crop comes from the Chinn family, fourth-generation growers based in the Wye Valley. Their sandy soils suit asparagus and they have supplied M&S since 2005.

Showstopping Easter centrepieces: lamb options and prices
For Easter roasts, M&S has launched several lamb centrepieces with bold flavour profiles.
- Harissa Lamb Shoulder — around 1.7kg, priced at £46.
- Greek-Style Lamb Leg — roughly 1.9kg, stuffed with feta and spinach, priced at £57.
The options are designed to give hosts a dramatic main course without complex prep.
Potatoes and tomatoes: sides to pair with your roast
New-season potatoes are on shelves, including Jersey Royals picked by M&S’s specialist teams. Prices for the island potatoes start at £3.50.
Tomato fans should note the retailer will stock 14 exclusive Isle of Wight tomato varieties in selected stores from April 8.
Spring flowers sourced in Britain: daffodils and a tulip range
M&S is also pushing British blooms as part of its spring offer. Daffodils are priced from £1 and are primarily grown by Varfell Farms in Penzance.
Varfell operates under M&S’s Plan A for Farming scheme and plants companion species to boost soil health.
The supermarket claims to offer more tulip varieties than any other national retailer. Every bunch is vetted by M&S’s Flower Doctor to meet freshness standards.
