Diana Ross Graces an Event with Her Family in a Stunning Ensemble

In a rare public appearance, Diana Ross was captured in photographs alongside all her children and grandchildren, commemorating a special occasion dedicated to her family. The iconic singer was dressed in an exquisite outfit that not only showcased her style but also paid homage to her loved ones.

On the evening of May 5th, at the Met Gala 2025, the renowned “Upside Down” artist made an unforgettable entrance draped in a long shawl featuring an 18-foot train adorned with feathers. This spectacular piece, which draped over the staircase and was managed by six attendants, carried a unique personal touch: the names of her 13 family members embroidered on the underside. This thoughtful addition to her gown was a collaborative creation by her son Evan Ross and designer Ugo Mozie.

The celebration of her unique outfit saw Diana Ross posing with her children and grandchildren, all gathered around the grandeur of her gown’s train. Her family positioning included her sons Evan, 36, and Ross, 37, on her left, and her daughters Rhonda, 53, and Tracee, 52, on her right. Chudney, 49, was also present, completing the family lineup.

A Legacy of Love and Music

Diana Ross welcomed her first child, Rhonda Ross Kendrick, in 1971 with Motown founder Berry Gordy. Later that year, she married music executive Robert Ellis Silberstein, with whom she had two daughters, Tracee and Chudney, before their separation in 1977. In 1986, Ross married Norwegian businessman Arne Naess Jr., with whom she had two sons, Ross and Evan, before their divorce in 2000.

The family portrait also included Diana’s eight grandchildren. On her left stood Bronx, Ziggy, Jagger, Everlee, and Leif, while Indigo, Callaway, and Raif grouped to her right, rounding out the family gathering.

Expanding the Family Tree

Diana Ross first became a grandmother in 2009 when her daughter Rhonda and her husband Rodney Kendrick welcomed their son Raif-Henok. Chudney Ross and her then-partner Joshua Faulkner introduced their daughter Callaway Lane in 2012. After marrying Ashlee Simpson in 2014, Evan Ross welcomed stepson Bronx Mowgli Wentz and daughter Jagger Snow in 2015. Ross Naess and his wife Kimberly Ryan had sons Leif in 2016 and Indigo in 2017. Chudney and Faulkner’s family grew again in 2019 with the birth of their daughter Everlee Ernestine, and in 2020, Evan and Simpson had their son Ziggy Blu.

Diana Ross shared that she had almost skipped the event but decided to attend after encouragement from her son Evan. She revealed this during a conversation with La La Anthony on Vogue’s red carpet livestream, noting that her attendance was a last-minute decision influenced by her ongoing tour.

The theme of the evening, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” not only highlighted Diana Ross’s influence but also inspired other celebrities. Notably, Zendaya’s outfit, a custom three-piece white suit by Louis Vuitton, drew inspiration from Diana Ross’s wardrobe in the 1975 film “Mahogany,” as reported by Vogue.

This event not only marked a significant style moment for Diana Ross but also a poignant family celebration, beautifully intertwining personal tributes with public appearances.
