A Sweet Surprise: Co-op’s New Treat Enchants Chocolate Aficionados

Co-op has excited dessert lovers with the introduction of a new brownie, inspired by a popular chocolate trend from Dubai, priced attractively at just £1.50. This new addition, dubbed the Irresistible Dubai Style Pistachio Brownie, brings the exotic flavors of Dubai’s renowned chocolate scene to UK consumers at a much more affordable price point.

The freshly launched 80g brownie, which can be found in Co-op’s in-store bakeries, incorporates the unique blend of pistachios and kadayif, a nod to the elements that have skyrocketed Dubai’s chocolate to worldwide fame.

New Product Launch

The new brownie variant was introduced across Co-op’s extensive network of 2,400 stores starting on August 15. This delectable treat consists of a rich Fairtrade-certified chocolate base, topped with a crunchy mixture of pistachios and kadaif pastry strands. To add to its allure, it’s finished with a smooth milk chocolate coating and sprinkled with pistachio pieces.

Now available in stores, this trendy treat is part of Co-op’s lunchtime meal deal options. Customers can choose the Dubai-inspired brownie as a side along with their main course and a drink, either from the standard or premium selections.

Comments from Co-op’s Product Development Team

Emily Haworth, Senior Product Development Manager at Co-op, expressed her enthusiasm for the new product, stating, “We are always looking to translate global trends into our product offerings and this brownie is a perfect example of that. It combines innovation with great taste, providing our shoppers with quality, convenience, and value.”

She added, “The feedback from those who have tried it has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am eager to see the reaction from our broader customer base.”

More Than Just a Brownie

In addition to the Dubai-inspired brownie, Co-op has also been pioneering with other bakery innovations this summer. One notable introduction is the UK’s first Chocolate Hazelnut Cookiessant, priced at £1.20. This inventive pastry merges the elements of a croissant and a cookie, creating another unique hybrid dessert option.

Co-op is not alone in catering to the sweet cravings of UK consumers. Marks & Spencer has also been making headlines with its latest sweet invention, the Pistachio & Shortbread Crunchy Clouds, which have been met with excellent reviews from the public.

These innovative bakery items highlight the ongoing trend of British retailers experimenting with new flavors and hybrid desserts, aiming to captivate the palates of dessert enthusiasts nationwide.
