Friday Favorites. Series.
Happy Friday!!! Particularly happy that I woke up with no pain today and my legs feeling remarkably good after my impromptu marathon yesterday. Always a win. Before I head off to my PT to have some maintenance work done on my legs I wanted to get up my Friday Favorites post up. Plus I need to pack and get ready to head out for the weekend. Heading to a new city to visit a new university in the pursuit of higher knowledge for our daughter. College touring continues…
I’ve been wearing Pro Compression tall marathon compression socks for years now. Every month a new sock design and this month’s sock does not disappoint.
Compression socks are great for athletes, people who are on their feet a lot for working and travelers. Compression socks are working to circulate blood back to your heart and lungs. With more efficient circulation comes less fatigue and your tired muscles are replenished with fresh oxygen and nutrients to reduce soreness and give you the extra stamina needed to exert yourself at the fullest. I wear mine during runs and afterwards. I also sleep in them post longer runs.
The book I can’t put down…
I’m all about going out for long runs. Doing my heart rate training but every runner at some point deals with negative chatter. Not believing you trained hard enough. You can’t reach your goals. Do the distance… whatever it is, we all deal with it. Just like training your body… you need to train your brain as well. It’s been fascinating to discover the impact running has on the brain and anti-aging properties even boosting memory etc. Highly recommended read. Available here.
Much to the dismay of my coffee-loving/addicted father – our Keurig died a slow death this week. While making a mandatory run to Target to buy a replacement before any caffeine withdrawals occurred I stumbled upon these cute little doggie jackets in the dollar bin area of Target. Squirrel! Ha. I bought three. $3.00 each. I couldn’t resist. Dasher isn’t sold on them or modeling but I just love them and when you weigh 10 lbs and live in PA… you get cold. Hopefully these help to keep her a little warmer on chilly walks.
Can’t stop laughing. The only dog that hates walks and really hates outwear.
And finally, my final favorite. Last week while touring a university that my daughter is considering we walked by one of the student centers and saw this —-
I was totally enamored. The student guide told me all about it. Order packages and they get delivered right to convenient locations throughout the country. You receive the pin to open your locker and get your purchases. Wow! Love this. So I happened to order a gift for a friend and I had the option to have it delivered to a locker location (happened to be a 7 eleven). You pick the nearest location and bam… they send you an email when the package has been delivered and your pick-up code. Easy peasy.
That’s it from here. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to enjoy this warm weather.
