1857 Home aesthetic city living: living room.
Continuing onto another spot in our city living, empty-nesting home. Our living room is my favorite room in our home. We got the Andes couch from West Elm and the sherpa chairs and ottoman from McGee & Co. colab with Target (literally drove all over the state to get 2 chairs and the ottoman). We sold everything we owned prior to moving for a fresh start and of course, the proportions of this home are very different than a modern build. The tv serves as artwork when it’s not on (Samsung frame tv). We chose to do shutters on all the windows on our first floor.
Because our home has an open concept on the first floor, we divided our living room and dining room spaces with area rugs over our pumpkin pine floors. Along with that you can see above that there is a reclaimed wood beam that also creates a separation. Originally this home was divided up into several smaller rooms however the carpenters optimized the visual space by removing all the walls.
This table was found on Wayfair a few months ago. I love that we staged it with some artwork that was a wedding gift with a fun small print from Target. The candlesticks/candles are from a local shop can be found here. Match striker on my coffee table. This vase is on my coffee table. Similar coasters on my coffee table. The bowl on my entry way table that holds everyone’s keys etc. And these boxes fit in perfectly along with providing a ton of storage!
Sorry for the photo dump but I find that more are interested in checking out pics, decor etc. than reading a life story. Thank you for allowing me to open up my home to you! ~ox
