Sesame Rubbed Kale Chips.

IMG_5705

It has been quite a week!  I’m sorry that I’ve been MIA the past few days but I was hospitalized earlier this week for an infection resulting from a finger surgery I had last week.  Happily home today, I wanted to get some recipes posted to share with you guys.  I made these with my husband last weekend.  We picked up a beautiful bunch of organic fresh kale and my kids love kale chips so I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  I mixed it up and used sesame oil with olive oil and they were so delicious!  Snacking at its finest!  No guilt and kid-approved.  Great after-school snacking idea too.

Ingredients:

1 bunch of fresh kale, hard spine removed, washed and dried very well
Sea salt
Olive oil
Sesame oil

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  I spray some olive oil on the baking sheet.  Set aside.  In a large bowl, tear up the clean kale into bite-size pieces.  Then drizzle with about one tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of sesame oil.  Get your hands in the bowl and massage each of the leaves with the oils and coat every piece well.  Toss with some salt and lay the pieces out on the baking sheet – avoid overlapping.  Working in batches, bake for about 10-12 minutes.  I suggest flipping them at about 4-5 minutes.  Keep a watchful eye as they can burn very quickly.  Remove and serve.

  1. What?! That is so scary about your finger. I am glad to see that you’re home, and if you’re posting that means I don’t need to worry. Love those kale chips (and the footed bowl, Lol.) I have never used sesame oil with kale chips before, but I know that would be a hit for us!
