Pineapple Spinach Yogurt Protein Smoothie.

Sneaking vegetables into your kids has never been so easy!  I say this over and over again but your kids will not detect the spinach as the other flavors over-power it and make it virtually undetectable.  Plus, if you are trying to add more leafy greens to your diet, this is yet another fun way to do it.

Ingredients:

1 medium sized pineapple, outer skin removed and cored, cut into chunks
1 apple, skin on but cored
1 large handful of baby spinach leaves, washed (I used organic)  – you can sub out kale for this to removing the hard stems and just use the leaves
1 scoop of whey protein powder, I used Cabot’s protein powder
1/2 cup of Greek yogurt (I used Chobani vanilla)
12 ice cubes
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk (you can use whatever milk or juice you have on hand)

Directions:

Place all of the ingredients into your Vitamix or blender and blend until creamy smooth.  Pour into glasses and enjoy!  This made 4 servings for me.  Adjust the milk amount to your desired consistency. Some people prefer thick while others like it a bit more like juice.

  1. Sounds delicious! Thanks for the recipe. Gonna take a look at tha green oatmeal smoothie also. I hadn’t thought of putting oatmeal in a smoothie until just recently. I’m getting a little bored with the straight oatmeal in the a.m!

  2. I MUST try this with my kids. I’m not sure why I keep waiting… but I’m betting the apple + pineapple will be the right combo for my little guys :)
