This recipe was created in mind for your Labor Day BBQ celebration.  Being dairy-free, it is safe to have on the BBQ buffet without worry about the hot summer weather.  Also, the herbs in the pesto are packed with delicious summer flavors.  You can see the whole recipe here.

I also wanted to do a product review of a new Lucy Hit My Stride Tunic/tank that they sent over to me to product test.  I took it for a spin on my trail run this past Sunday.  I ran 14 miles in it and absolutely loved it.  The fabric wicks away moisture and I didn’t look like a sweaty mess that I really was post run (see below).  I’m not a fan of clingy running tops and the looser fit on this was perfect.  The sides cinch up for an extra fun detail.  Vents along the back strap helped keep me cool. And NO chafing!  It’s definitely one of my favorites!

Also loved the reflective strip in the back for my 3 and 4am runs.  The tank comes in two colors and can be found here.

I just discovered that this week was supposed to be a step down in my training… oops.  So I kept my “long run” shorter than expected.  It was hot today… and oh so humid.  I struggled.  It wasn’t pretty but the miles are done.

Sunday:  14 mile trail run
Monday: 5.22 treadmill/strength training/core
Tuesday: 14 miles trail/road run
Wednesday: rest day
Thursday: 15 sweatfest miles

Lots of exciting things happening in the Knead to Cook offices today.  Stay tuned!
